Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is seeking a Workshop Engineer (Mechanical) for a well-established manufacturing site in West Bromwich. You will operate CNC Mills and Grinders to manufacture parts and tools, reading mechanical drawings and solving engineering challenges daily.

Working Monday to Friday, 7am-4pm (37 hours), with overtime opportunities to boost earnings. You will join a busy toolroom, repair and re-engineer tools and parts to improve efficiency, while contributing to ongoing

Workshop Engineer (Mechanical)

£32,000 - £34,000 (OTE £37,400) + Monday to Friday + Days Based + Training + Progression

Are you a Workshop Engineer, Technician or similar with the ability to use a CNC Mill/Grinder and can read mechanical engineering drawings looking for a varied and exciting position where you can put your engineering knowledge to the test?

Do you want a Monday-Friday, Days based role within a large manufacturing site with it's own Toolroom, working within a team of engineers who take pride in their work?

In this role you will be working within a busy toolroom to make parts and tool as well as repairing and re-engineering new and improved tools that come back into the workshop. This would be a great role for someone who wants to be challenged daily - looking at parts and figuring out how they can be repaired and improved whilst working autonomously on the workshops machinery.

You will be joining a longstanding and successful manufacturing business that have been established in the area for over 100 years. This is a large site with a dedicated workshop/toolroom that will keep you engaged with interesting work.

This role would suit a Workshop Engineer, Technician, Toolmaker or similar who can use a CNC Mill/Grinder and enjoys taking things apart, putting them back together and re-engineering tools and parts to be more effective.

The Role:

• Using CNC Mills and Grinders to make parts and Tools
• Working from engineering drawings
• Assisting with breakdowns, fault-finding and re-engineering new tools when they break
• Taking things apart, figuring out why they broke down and engineering new solutions
• Monday - Thursday, 7am-4pm, Friday 7:30am-12:30pm, 37 hours per week

Overtime available to increase earnings

The Person:

• Workshop Engineer/Technician, Toolmaker or similar
• Mechanical background (can read Engineering drawings)
• Ability to use CNC Mills & Grinders
• Ability to repair parts and assist with breakdowns
