The focus of the role:

Maintain, service, and repair plant machinery while maintaining safe working practices at all times. Responsibilities include maintaining workshop tooling and housekeeping to set standards. The role is based at our Redditch Depot, working on new and used machines and pre-delivery inspections.

Accountabilities:
  1. Maintain, service, and repair Komatsu equipment (or miscellaneous equipment) as required. Complete a dynamic risk assessment and method statement prior to commencing work. Complete pre-delivery inspections and modifications. Disassemble and overhaul machines and major components, repairing hydraulic and electric systems. Carry out post-repair tests/inspections to ensure the unit operates to expected performance levels.
  2. Diagnose, disassemble, and rebuild machine major components. Identify root causes of faults. Clearly specify required parts. Perform accurate and timely repairs. Complete all required documentation.
Key experience:
  • Experience working with heavy plant and machinery.
  • Basic safety training.
  • Knowledge of auto-electrics.
  • Experience with welding and oxy-acetylene equipment.
  • Experience with workshop tooling.
