Job summary

Millers Vanguard, a Specialist Maintenance Provider for Bakery & Catering Equipment, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for the Mossfield Mill workshop in Bury. The role focuses on refurbishment from the ground up, with fault diagnosis, repair, and replacement of mechanical and electrical components.

Training is provided on-site, with a strong team behind individual tasks to meet targets and quality standards.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 2+ in mechanical engineering or related field.
Experience with hand tools and bench fitting.
Experience in repairing, dismantling and rebuilding mechanical equipment; basic electrical understanding.

Responsibilities

The rebuilding and refurbishment of bakery & catering equipment
To inspect individual components and repair/replace where necessary
To complete tasks within time scales and to the expected high standard
To run and test completed machines prior to submitting for final inspection
To work alongside the workshop team to complete tasks as efficiently as possible
To carry out reasonable ad hoc duties within the company as detailed by the Workshop Manager

Job description

Millers Vanguard, a Specialist Maintenance Provider for Bakery & Catering Equipment, are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their workshop-based team at Mossfield Mill, Bury.

The purpose of the role is primarily the refurbishment of Bakery & Catering Equipment from the ground up but will also include fault diagnosis, repair and replacement of various mechanical and electrical components. Whilst working individually for the most part, the successful candidate will also be part of a strong team working together to meet targets and maintain quality of the highest standard, providing reliable assets to some of the UK’s leading Supermarkets. Experience working with bakery and catering equipment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided on site.

Duties to Include:

The rebuilding and refurbishment of bakery & catering equipment
To inspect individual components and repair/replace where necessary
To complete tasks within time scales and to the expected high standard

The Ideal Candidate will have the Following:

Mechanical Engineering Qualifications of NVQ Level 2 or above (Maintenance Engineer/Vehicle Maintenance or similar experience highly desirable)
Experience with Hand Tools and Bench Fitting
Experience in repairing, dismantling and rebuilding mechanical equipment
A basic understanding of electrical systems
A professional attitude towards work and a willingness to remain flexible
A high level of attention to detail
