Qualifications

HGV Technician

Day shifts | Salary circa £18 per hour - £42k plus overtime

We welcome applications from both qualified and time-served technicians—you do not need to be fully qualified to apply. You will carry out inspections on a diverse fleet, including main dealer heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), refuse collection vehicles, road sweepers, hook loaders, light commercials (vans), trailers, and tippers.

The work involves (but is not limited to):

1. Routine and preventative maintenance
2. MOT preparation
3. Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
4. 6 or 8 weekly inspections
5. Correction of running defects
6. Chassis and fabrication work
7. Hydraulics and pneumatics
8. Improvement of vehicle standards
9. Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections

We seek qualified and experienced Heavy Vehicle Technicians with a thorough understanding of commercial vehicle mechanics. Ideally, candidates will hold City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent qualifications. Additional certifications such as IRTEC or EV qualifications are desirable. A HGV Class 1 or Class 2 license is a plus.
