Job Responsibilities:
  1. Complete inspections and safety checks in accordance with industry practice and regulations.
  2. Perform day-to-day service, repair, and maintenance of forklift trucks, handling equipment, and plant.
  3. Conduct fault finding and repairs to meet first-fix targets.
  4. Sourcing of parts from internal or external suppliers.
  5. Communicate efficiently to minimize downtime and achieve first-fix targets.
  6. Adhere to company procedures and current Health and Safety / COSHH regulations.
  7. Seek and act upon opportunities for personal and team development.
  8. Perform other duties as reasonably requested by management.
Qualifications and Skills:

Knowledge of at least one of the following areas is required, with willingness to undertake additional training:

  • Mechanical engineering
  • Electrical engineering

Ability to work independently and in a team, with good communication skills, high standards, and ability to meet timescales.

Person Specification:
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Proficient in fault finding and repair.
  • GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths.
  • Experience with Health & Safety requirements in a workshop environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Excellent organizational skills, resourcefulness, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Clear oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong consultation and negotiation skills.
  • Flexibility to meet diverse needs of the role.

  • Recent relevant experience in forklift truck service is preferred but not essential.
Work Hours:

Monday to Friday – 8 hours per day, with 30 minutes for lunch.

Holidays:

25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
