Allstaff Recruitment is currently seeking a Workshop Engineer based in Biggleswade for a multinational engineering company.

Summary of the Workshop Engineer role

Salary: GBP16.56 - GBP19.16 per hour D.O.E.
Location: Biggleswade
Type of Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: 40-hour working week, Monday to Friday

The role

As a Workshop Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out effective maintenance and repair work.
• Performing routine pre-delivery inspections of new machines.
• Fitting extras to machines as required, both factory-approved and locally supplied.
• Performing all forms of repair and servicing to machines.
• Completing repair, overhaul, and diagnosis of plant equipment.
• Maintaining clear communication with the Workshop Supervisor.
• Supporting and mentoring engineering apprentices.

The experience required

To be successful as a Workshop Engineer, you should have:

• A full clean driving license.
• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a related industry to NVQ level 3 or above.
• Demonstrable service engineering experience, particularly in major component overhaul and refurbishments.
• Industry-related training such as a CSCS card.
• Previous experience with service software and interfaces.
• Good communication skills.
