Job summary

Yorkshire Water is recruiting two Repair Centre Electrical Engineers for its Normington workshop. The roles are permanent, 37 hours weekly, with overtime opportunities and a focus on fault finding, refurbishment and safe maintenance of motors, controls and pumps.

You will work in a dedicated workshop, collaborating with mechanical engineers and asset specialists to minimise downtime while maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must have recognised electrical craft/technician apprenticeship (Level 3 or equivalent).
• City & Guilds/ONC/BTEC/NVQ/HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Experience as a time-served Industrial Electrician.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair and refurbish electrical equipment to restore assets to operational condition.
• Fault find on electrical systems, motors, control panels, VSDs, instrumentation and related equipment.
• Re-cable motors, pumps, control panels and associated electrical assets, including installing cables and terminations.
• Carry out electrical testing, inspection and certification per regulations, standards and procedures.
• Test, commission and validate repaired equipment before returning to service.
• Complete planned maintenance and reactive repair work to maximise reliability.
• Interpret electrical schematics and technical documents to support maintenance.
• Maintain accurate repair documentation and maintenance records.
• Identify recurring faults and recommend improvements for asset reliability.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety and environmental rules.
