Unify is recruiting a Workshop Controller for Weston Super Mare, office-based. You will be the main point of contact for workshop activity, coordinating breakdowns, servicing and maintenance, and ensuring first-time fixes.

This permanent role offers training, career progression, and a supportive environment in a growing plant hire company. You will plan service schedules, liaise with external engineers, and manage repairs and stock history to keep fleet available.

Qualifications

• Experience in service coordination or workshop support in fast-paced plant/equipment hire sectors.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities and stay calm under pressure.
• Confident and clear communicator, both on calls and via email.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with digital maintenance/asset-tracking tools.

Responsabilités

• Take charge of allocating maintenance tasks to technicians with the right tools, parts and information to deliver top-quality fixes on the first attempt.
• Oversee the involvement of external engineers and service providers, including handling purchase orders and processing invoices.
• Plan and schedule regular servicing and compliance inspections to minimise unplanned downtime and keep operations smooth.
• Collaborate with the equipment hire team to manage fleet availability and arrange backup machinery when required.
• Investigate and process damage-related repairs, including identifying chargeable issues, sourcing components, and issuing invoices.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs for repairs, servicing history, stock levels, and maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities

What do I need?

• Proven experience in a Service Coordination, Customer Service, Service Advisor or Workshop Support role preferably within construction plant, car dealership, equipment hires or a similarly fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities and stay calm under pressure.
• Confident and clear communicator, both on calls and via email.
• Competency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with digital maintenance or asset tracking tools
