Our client is a busy dealership and they are looking to recruit an experienced Workshop Controller to join their busy site near Reigate.

Role – Workshop Controller

Salary – basic £35,000 to £38,000

Hours of work:

• 08.00 to 18.00 – Monday to Friday
• 06.00 to 12.00 – Saturday (1 in 3)

Location – RH1

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

• To effectively coordinate the activities of the service operation.
• To directly liaise, negotiate and implement policy in conjunction with the manufacturer.
• To manage and lead the service department, supporting the business objectives of the dealership and aligning with the manufacturer’s policies.
• To deliver a service quality that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
• To ensure the department has the necessary equipment and facilities to maximize productivity and comply with relevant legislation.
• To actively participate in the manufacturer’s 24hr recovery and warranty policies to support customers within the manufacturer’s charter.
• To oversee the issuing of work, considering loading and customer commitments as coordinated with reception.
• To ensure workshop processes adhere to guidelines for retail, internal, and warranty procedures.
• To ensure all work is issued efficiently.
• To oversee the issuing and progress of sales department preparation work.
• To communicate work progress and potential issues in the workshop, taking preventative measures to maintain customer satisfaction.
• To have a comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety legislation.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience controlling workflow in the workshop.
• Ability to produce estimates confidently.
• Authority to approve retail work.
• Experience processing job cards for invoicing.
• Ability to sign off service sheets.
• Assist with technical issues in the workshop.
• Flexibility regarding working hours based on business needs.
