Workshop Controller – Reading area (Commercial Main Dealer)

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm plus every other Saturday morning

Our client is a main commercial dealership looking to recruit a Workshop Controller to join their busy site.

Workshop Controller Role:

You will manage a busy workshop daily, overseeing Technicians. This role involves all aspects of workshop management, including issuing work to technicians, managing tooling & equipment, and ensuring Health & Safety compliance.

Workshop Controller – Key Responsibilities:
  • Take full responsibility for issuing work, considering workload and customer commitments as coordinated with the reception team.
  • Ensure workshop processes align with retail, internal, and warranty guidelines.
  • Distribute work efficiently across the team.
  • Oversee sales department preparation work, issuing and progressing tasks.
  • Communicate work progress, flag potential issues early, and implement preventative measures to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety legislation.
Workshop Controller – Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Foreman, Manager, or Service Manager preferred.
  • Confidence and a strong understanding of workshop processes and team management.
  • Full driving license; notify any endorsements.
  • IT literacy; Kerridge knowledge is advantageous.
  • Strong numerical and administrative skills with attention to detail for KPI accuracy.
