Job summary

Tony Casagrande Hydraulics Systems Ltd in Wath, near Rotherham, is seeking a Workshop Apprentice to learn manufacturing, maintenance and hydraulic system servicing. You’ll work closely with skilled engineers in a friendly family business environment.

You will gain hands-on exposure using tools, diagnosing faults, assembling products, and supporting on-site maintenance. The program includes college day-release and industry training, aiming to build a long-term engineering career.

Qualifications

  • Essential GCSE Maths and English (A*-C/9-3) required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist a busy engineering workshop in manufacturing and preventative/restorative maintenance.
  • Work safely and in line with written procedures, perform your own risk assessment before starting work.
  • Maintain product knowledge to assist customers quickly and accurately.
  • Serve customers at the service counter professionally and courteously.
  • Use a variety of hand tools and machinery; diagnose and fault find.

What You'll Do

As a Workshop Apprentice, you’ll be initially responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

  • Assist a busy engineering workshop in all aspects of manufacturing and preventative/restorative maintenance
  • Work safely and in line with written procedures, carrying out your own risk assessment before commencing work
  • Maintain product knowledge in order to assist customers quickly
  • Serve customers at the service counter in a professional and courteous manner
  • Use a variety of hand tools and machinery
  • Diagnose and fault find
  • Carry out machinery inspections
  • Checking and calibrating instruments to make sure they are accurate
  • Assembling new products to specific designs
  • Support with on‑site maintenance when required
  • General housekeeping
