Job summary

Anglian Water Services seeks a Works Technician – Process Controller to operate and maintain water recycling processes around Wellingborough, Kettering, Rushden and nearby areas.

The role supports 24/7 operations with a typical 08.00–16.00 day shift and standby/weekend duties on occasions, with enhanced pay. A Full UK Manual Driving Licence and IT skills are essential for the role.

Qualifications

• Full UK Manual Driving Licence is required.
• Experience in Field/Engineering helps.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety.
• Competence with IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water recycling assets (tanks, pumps, screens, blowers, valves, motors, meters).
• Carry out preventative and reactive servicing and lubrication tasks.
• Perform process sampling and escalate issues.
• Adhere to safety policies and maintain good housekeeping.
• Aim to reduce energy use while maintaining compliance.
• Work in confined spaces and at height as required with health checks.

Works Technician - Process Controller

Salary – Starting at £31,756 with progression opportunities up to £42,873 Basic + standby & overtime payments

All tools, PPE, Business use of company van provided

Full Time / Permanent, with flexibility for part time

Location – Wellingborough, Kettering, Rushden & surrounding areas

Hours – Our processes operate 24/7, whilst the working hours for this role are generally Monday – Friday, 08.00 - 16.00, we can offer flexibility on the start and finishing times. Please note there is a requirement for standby and occasional weekend working which come with their own pay rates.

Water Recycling is at the heart of ouroperations.The key services that we are responsible for aredelivered by ourin-house, highly skilled workforce. We collect and treat the water that customers have used, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 kilometers of sewers which feed over 1,000 water recycling centers.

Your Role

The Works Technician Process Controller has a responsibility to ensure that our Water Recycling treatment processes and systems are serviced and maintained within the relevant regulatory compliance – you’ll do this by:

• Operating and maintaining our assets including tanks, pumps, screens, blowers, valves, motors, flow meters, compressors and much more.
• Performing preventative and reactive servicing and maintenance such as lubrication on the systems above.
• Carrying out process sampling to ensure things are operating as they should be and escalating any issues.
• Complying with company safety policy & procedures as well as maintaining good housekeeping
• Exploring and ensuring that we maintain the lowest possible energy demands without compromising compliance
• In this role you must be able to work within a confined space, and at height without restrictions. Due to harness weight limits, your maximum weight cannot be in excess of 113 kilograms and you will be expected to complete relevant occupational health checks

About you –

Background and Experience

• Experience working in a Field/Engineering environment is ideal
• Experience of working in a process / quality assurance environment would also be an advantage, however not essential
• Good understanding of Health & Safety
• Must have a Full UK Manual Driving Licence

• Problem solver, with the ability to work quickly and using own initiative

Interpersonal Skills

• Excellent team player, demonstrating an enthusiastic and proactive approach
• Possess good interpersonal skills, along with excellent organisational skills and job prioritisation
