Job summary

Together Housing Group is seeking a Works Planner to join our Gas Planning team in Blackburn. You will manage day-to-day scheduling of gas repairs and annual safety checks, ensuring bookings are kept, data is current and customer care remains a priority.

You will work 37 hours per week with hybrid working after training: three days in the Blackburn office and two days at home, with a starting salary of £27,510 and a range of benefits.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering responsive repair services.
  • Team player with ability to work in a team.
  • Prior experience in a social housing repairs environment.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and databases.
  • Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage work within agreed timescales.
  • Ensure compliance with legal obligations (Section 11 of the Tenant and Landlord Act 1985).
  • Conduct regular work output monitoring and provide reports.
  • Communicate progress with teams, technicians and customers.
  • Reschedule jobs and coordinate with customers and technicians.
  • Coordinate repairs scheduling and communicate changes to stakeholders.

Job description

We are looking for a Works Planner to join the Gas Planning team in Blackburn . As a Works Planner you will be responsible for the effective day to day operational management of the gas repairs and annual safety check scheduling system, ensuring that appointments are made and kept, views are monitored and kept up to date on a daily basis, productivity is maximised and customer care is paramount.

Key responsibilities of the Works Planner include…
  • Monitoring and managing work within agreed timescales, adhering to company policies and procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with legal obligations, such as Section 11 of the Tenant and Landlord Act 1985
  • Conducting regular work output monitoring and providing reports
  • Communicating effectively with teams, technicians, and customers regarding work progress and any changes or updates
  • Rescheduling jobs in case of unforeseen circumstances and coordinating with customers and technicians
  • Ensuring the timely rescheduling of pending or suspended jobs
  • Liaising with relevant teams to address work quality, timeliness, and disciplinary issues
  • Coordinating repairs scheduling and communicating changes or issues to the appropriate stakeholders
Requirements
  • Experience supporting the delivery of responsive repair services
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Prior experience in a social housing repairs environment
  • Proficiency in using IT applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and working with databases
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work to set targets and deadlines
  • Knowledge of Section 11 of the Tenant and Landlord Act
  • Flexibility to adapt to work demands and priorities

  • Hybrid Working: Following your initial training period, you will work on a hybrid basis, spending three days per week in the office and two days working from home . Your office base will be our Blackburn office (BB1 1JD) .
