Job summary

Ian Williams Ltd in Maidstone is seeking a Working Foreperson to organise, supervise, and support a painting team across local residential, commercial and educational projects.

We offer a competitive guaranteed salary of £42,141 for a 39-hour week, with on-target earnings up to £46,197 plus bonus. Benefits include a company van with fuel card, uniform and PPE, holidays, pension, life insurance, and access to legal/financial support.

Qualifications

• Experienced Painter with a proven track record managing projects.
• Qualified to a minimum NVQ 2 level or equivalent in a core trade.
• Experience supervising sites/projects in painting or similar setting is advantageous.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a directly employed trades team on site and manage site labour allocation.
• Manage daily team productivity and report to Contracts Manager.
• Health and Safety welfare checks including PPE, van and tool inspections.
• Deliver regular toolbox talks.
• Pre-work and post-work inspections of works completed.

Your duties and responsibilitieswill include:

• Working on the tools, whilst maintaining the supervision of a directly employed trades team, the site and labour allocation within residential properties, as well as commercial and educational settings on occasiontoo.
• The daily management of team productivity, the regular reporting of this and job completion information communicated to the Contracts Manager
• Health and Safety reporting – you will complete on-site welfare checks including monitoring safe ways of working, PPE, van, and tool/equipment inspections
• The delivery of regular toolbox talks
• Pre work inspections, setups and post inspections of works completed

Expectations of the Working Foreperson:

• We welcome applications from experienced Painters, who have a proven track record managing projects
• Qualified to a minimum NVQ 2 level or equivalent in a core trade
• Experience ofsupervisingsites/projects successfully within a paintingor similar setting would be advantageous
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Possession of a full current UK Driving licence, which is essential to undertake the Working Foreperson role
