Job summary

Tradeline Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Working Foreman to lead on-site operations for fast-track refurbishments and maintenance projects across London for hospitality clients. You will oversee day-to-day site activities, manage subcontractors, and occasionally run multiple small sites while assisting on the tools during close-outs and snagging.

The role requires a time-served trade background with SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid at Work, and a proactive, muck-in attitude.

Qualifications

• Trade background preferred (carpentry, joinery, finishing trades).
• Valid SMSTS, CSCS Card, and First Aid at Work are required.
• Experience in fast-track commercial fit-outs, pubs, or reactive maintenance.
• IT skills for basic site reporting using mobile/tablet apps.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Site leadership and supervision of day-to-day operations, sub-contractors and trade teams.
• Hands-on trade support during finishing, snagging, and clean handovers.
• Complete basic site reports and photo updates for management.
• Multi-site coordination for small additional schemes when required.

Job description

We are recruiting a hands-on Working Foreman to join a leading fit-out specialist delivering fast-track refurbishments and maintenance projects across London for high-profile hospitality clients.

Projects range from short 2-day minor works/maintenance to 2-3 week fast-track refurbishments with values up to £250k. You will be responsible for overseeing operations on-site (occasionally running a couple of smaller sites concurrently) while actively helping on the tools - particularly during project close-outs, snagging, and keeping sites running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Leadership & Supervision: Manage day-to-day site operations, sub-contractors, and trade teams on fast-track pub refurbs and maintenance jobs.
• Hands-on Trade Support: Roll up your sleeves to assist with finishing works, snagging, site tidying, and trade support to ensure clean handovers.
• Reporting & IT: Complete basic site reports, photo updates, and admin using mobile/tablet applications to keep the management team updated.
• Multi-Site Management: Oversee single main projects or coordinate across a couple of smaller, local 2-3 day maintenance schemes when required.
• Health & Safety: Maintain strict H&S standards on-site, conduct inductions, and ensure safe working environments in live or fast-turnaround hospitality spaces.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Trade Background: Time-served trade background strongly preferred (Carpentry, Joinery, Finishing trades, etc.).
• Certifications: Valid SMSTS, active CSCS Card, and First Aid at Work.
• Hospitality / Refurb Experience: Proven experience in fast-track commercial fit-outs, pub refurbishments, or reactive maintenance.
• IT Skills: Proficient with basic site reporting, smartphone/tablet apps, and email.
• Driving: Full UK Driving Licence (Vehicle & Fuel Card provided).
• Work Ethic: Adaptable, hands-on "muck-in" attitude with strong organizational skills.
