Job summary

Nottingham City Council is inviting applications for a maintenance role at the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham.

This onsite position focuses on keeping the venue in good repair and compliant with safety standards, with responsibilities spanning routine upkeep, repairs from the maintenance log, and coordination with external contractors.

Qualifications

  • Experience with tools and a basic level of plumbing, carpentry and electrical work.
  • Ability to liaise with contractors, staff and members of the public.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
  • Fluency in English is an essential requirement for the role.

Working Hours: 42pw Tuesday to Saturday

Salary: Starting Salary is £30,000 (Level one) rising to - £30,900 (Level 3) per annum

About the Role

We are very pleased to be able to further expand the Maintenance team to ensure the site is kept to a good standard for public and incoming companies, cast and crew. Assist staff with general upkeep of the building, carry out repairs from the maintenance log and liaise with contractors, for planned and reactive maintenance. Performing regular compliance checks such as asbestos or legionella as required.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Ability to work as part of the team and on your own initiative, problem solving with experience of a similar maintenance background.
  • Experience with tools and an understanding of basic plumbing, carpentry and electrical work.
  • Experience and ability to liaise with contractors, staff and members of the public.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety.
  • This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) (English Language Requirement for public sector workers) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English, is an essential requirement for the role.
