About the Role:
Our clients are a global consultancy who are seeking a Workday Programme Director to lead and deliver complex Workday transformation programmes across Finance, HR, and enterprise functions. The ideal candidate will have significant experience delivering large-scale global Workday implementations, with a strong focus on Workday Financials, cross-module coordination, and stakeholder engagement at the executive level.
As a senior leader in the practice, you will serve as both a strategic advisor and delivery lead, overseeing teams through every phase of the transformation lifecycle - from discovery to deployment and post-production support.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead large-scale, multi-phase Workday transformation programmes, with a particular focus on Workday Financials including Core Finance, Procurement, Projects, Expenses, and Reporting.
- Provide executive-level programme governance, including budget management, milestone tracking, resource planning, and risk mitigation.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to C-level stakeholders, helping shape strategic direction and deliver measurable transformation outcomes.
- Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary delivery teams across business, technology, and third-party vendors.
- Facilitate discovery workshops to align business goals with Workday capabilities and process standardisation.
- Strong at getting into the detail on RAID logs and working closely with workstream and technical leads to plan and execute timely delivery.
- Oversee the configuration, integration, testing, and deployment of Workday solutions.
- Drive effective change management, user adoption strategies, and post-go-live support models.
- Support business development efforts through proposal development, solution architecture, and stakeholder presentations.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 10+ years of programme or project leadership experience in enterprise SaaS, ERP, or digital transformation programmes.
- 5+ years of Workday experience, including successful delivery of at least two full-cycle Workday Financials implementations.
- Demonstrable experience leading large-scale transformation programmes valued over £8-10 billion, ideally in complex, multi-entity or regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of Finance and HR business processes, including General Ledger, Procurement, Expenses, and Financial Planning.
- Hands-on experience with delivery frameworks (Agile, Hybrid, Waterfall) and enterprise-level governance structures.
- Proven ability to lead diverse cross-functional teams, including technical, functional, and business stakeholders.
- Executive stakeholder management with strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Experience with integration and reporting tools such as Workday Studio, Prism Analytics, or Adaptive Planning is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Workday Financials or Workday Pro certification.
- Project management qualifications: MSP, PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile certifications.
- Financial background or accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) .
- UK-based delivery experience across public and private sectors.
