Cumberland Council is seeking a highly organised Works Scheduler (Work Week Planner) to join our Highways Delivery team in Carlisle or Workington. The role focuses on planning, coordinating and monitoring highway maintenance and improvement work programmes across the county.

Cumberland Council is looking for a highly organised and proactive Works Scheduler (Work Week Planner) to join our Highways Delivery team. This is a key role responsible for planning, coordinating and monitoring highway maintenance and improvement work programmes across the county. Working closely with engineers, supervisors and operational teams, you will develop and manage work schedules, oversee the allocation of labour, plant and materials, monitor performance against key targets, and support the successful delivery of projects from planning through to completion. You'll play a vital part in ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with budget and programme requirements. This role is available on a permanent basis.
We're seeking someone with relevant technical qualifications, experience in highways maintenance, civil engineering or a similar operational environment, and strong project planning and organisational skills. You should be confident working with data, performance monitoring systems and stakeholders at all levels, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.
