Job summary

Cumberland Council is seeking a highly organised Works Scheduler (Work Week Planner) to join our Highways Delivery team in Carlisle or Workington. The role focuses on planning, coordinating and monitoring highway maintenance and improvement work programmes across the county.

You will allocate labour, plant and materials, monitor performance, and support projects from planning through to completion. A permanent position with 37 hours per week, offering a stable career in a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualifications in highways/civil engineering.
• Experience in highways maintenance or similar operational environment.
• Strong project planning and organisational skills.
• Proficient with data and performance monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor highway maintenance and improvement work programmes across the county.
• Develop and manage work schedules; oversee allocation of labour, plant and materials.
• Monitor performance against key targets and budgets; support project delivery from planning to completion.
