Job summary

Harlow College Group is seeking a dedicated Work Placement Officer to strengthen links with employers and secure meaningful placements for learners. You will work with staff and students to develop work readiness and manage placements across sectors.

The role involves sourcing placements, building new employer contacts, maintaining records in the placement system, and promoting benefits of work experience to partners.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of successfully engaging and developing relationships with employers, clients, or customers.
• Experience in a customer service or client‑centred environment with excellent telephone skills.
• Level 2 in English & Maths or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a willingness to forge new contacts.
• Experience in using technology, along with a willingness to understand new technology.
• Ability to problem‑solve, flexibility in managing work priorities, and a track record of meeting deadlines and targets.
• Safeguarding Level 2 qualification or a willingness to work towards it.
• Experience and or knowledge of the aviation industry would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supporting college staff in developing students' work readiness.
• Sourcing work experience and industry placements for students.
• Cultivating new employer and industry contacts while nurturing relationships with existing partners.
• Articulating the benefits of offering work and industry placements to Harlow College learners to potential employers.
• Maintaining accurate records through a state-of-the-art work placement software platform.
