Job summary

Think FE, Northampton, seeks a Work Placement and Experience Officer – Construction to secure high-quality work experience and Industry Placements for construction students. You will liaise with employers, curriculum teams and Careers colleagues to develop paid or funded placements.

The role requires GCSEs, construction sector links, HSE knowledge, and driving licence; permanent, full-time role with generous leave and LGPS benefits.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or equivalent.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working with employers or clients.
  • Strong links to, or experience within, the construction sector.
  • Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and HSE standards.

Responsibilities

  • Source and support work experience and Industry Placements within construction.
  • Build relationships with employers and other key stakeholders.
  • Arrange masterclasses, careers talks, interview practice and virtual work experiences.
  • Monitor placement hours to ensure funding requirements are met.
  • Check placement providers can offer appropriate supervision and a safe working environment.
  • Work closely with curriculum teams to identify suitable placement opportunities.

Work Placement Coordinator – Construction
Location: Northampton
Salary: £25,110 – £27,400 per annum
Contract: Permanent
We are recruiting a Work Placement Coordinator – Construction for a well-established further education college in Northampton.
You will work with construction employers, curriculum teams and Careers colleagues to secure high-quality work experience and Industry Placements for students.
What will you do?

  • Source and support work experience and Industry Placements within construction.
  • Build relationships with employers and other key stakeholders.
  • Arrange masterclasses, careers talks, interview practice and virtual work experiences.

What are we looking for?
