Job summary

St George’s School in Newport, England, invites applications for a Work Experience Co-ordinator & Careers Assistant. The role supports careers education and work placements for Key Stage 4 and 5, liaising with employers to grow the placements database.

WORK EXPERIENCE COORDINATOR & CAREERS ASSISTANT

Salary – Hay Grade 7 - £19,624 - £21,261 per annum, actual, paid in equal instalments across 12 months
Hours per week – 31.25 hours per week, term-time 38 weeks per year
THE ROLE:

St George’s is committed to investing in careers education and work experience for our young people. To continue to provide them with excellent opportunities to gain real-life understanding of the workplace, we are looking for a highly motivated and committed Work Experience Co-ordinator & Careers Assistant.

You will have a passion for working with young people, particularly those requiring tailored support, to organise appropriate work experience placements across Key Stage 4 and 5.

You will be able to demonstrate your ability to liaise positively with employers and agencies to maintain and develop our database of work experience placements.

You will work closely with the Careers Lead to organise events and support administrative tasks.

It is essential that applicants possess the following:

  • GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
  • Relevant experience working in an administrative role, managing records and maintaining databases
  • Good communication skills, and able to work to deadlines
  • A strong student focus, holding safeguarding at the centre of their practice.
  • Relevant experience and understanding of working with young people with SEN would be an advantage

Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to travel between locations. A full, clean UK driving licence and access to reliable transport is therefore essential
