Job summary

Gap Personnel is hiring a Woodworking Fabricator in Swindon to manufacture bespoke timber packaging from technical drawings. You will cut, assemble and finish components using woodworking machinery and hand tools, ensuring high quality and safety standards.

The role supports a four-day week with optional overtime and offers a temp‑to‑perm path. You will work with a skilled production team, reading drawings and meeting tight delivery timelines while maintaining quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Experience in woodworking, manufacturing, joinery, carpentry, or similar production environments.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Experience using woodworking machinery, hand tools and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Reliable, motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physically fit for manual handling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture bespoke wooden crates, boxes, pallets and packaging products.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
• Cut, shape, assemble and fit timber components to specification.
• Use woodworking machinery, power tools and hand tools safely.
• Install protective packaging materials where required.
• Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
• Carry out quality checks and rectify defects before dispatch.
• Work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines.
• Assist with packing and preparing items for shipment.
• Follow health and safety procedures and maintain a clean workspace.
• Collaborate with teammates to support continuous improvement.
