Job summary

ProTech Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Panel Wirer in Milton Keynes to join a growing manufacturing engineering business. The role focuses on wiring and assembling control panels and enclosures within a modern setting, with emphasis on safety and quality.

You will read schematics, crimp and route cables, test power units and contribute to project work with potential for a permanent role. The position is a 3-month rolling contract outside IR35, offering £20-£25 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Wiring and assembling electrical control panels and mechanical enclosures.
  • Crimping, terminating and routing cables to a high standard.
  • Reading and working from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings.
  • Building electrical and mechanical systems, including sub-assemblies.
  • Installing and testing completed electrical power units.
  • Carrying out quality checks to ensure all assemblies meet required specifications.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment.

We are currently seeking an experienced Panel Wirer to join a growing engineering business based in Milton Keynes. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of high-quality electrical and mechanical assemblies within a modern manufacturing environment. With a strong pipeline of projects and the potential to move into a permanent position, this role offers excellent long-term prospects.

Key Responsibilities as a Panel Wirer
  • Wiring and assembling electrical control panels and mechanical enclosures.
  • Crimping, terminating and routing cables to a high standard.
  • Reading and working from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings.
  • Building electrical and mechanical systems, including sub-assemblies.
  • Installing and testing completed electrical power units.
  • Carrying out quality checks to ensure all assemblies meet required specifications.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment.
The successful Panel Wirer will ideally have:
  • Previous experience in a Panel Wirer, Electrical Fitter or similar role.
  • The ability to confidently read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical components, wiring methods and best industry practices.
  • Good mechanical assembly skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines.
