Job summary

Soil Machine Dynamics (SMD) is seeking a Manufacturing Production Operative to manufacture wires, cables, harnesses and wiring looms to support electrical system builds. You will work with manual tools and automatic machinery, following build instructions and drawings.

Ideal candidates will have NVQ level 3 or equivalent, experience with panel and machine wiring, crimping and soldering, and a good working knowledge of electrical assemblies.

Qualifications

• Ideally NVQ level 3 or equivalent production experience.
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 or equivalent.
• Experience with electrical connectors (Molex, Deutch, D-Type).
• Skilled in crimping and cable making hand tools.
• Experience of soldering for wiring and PCB manufacture.
• Basic Microsoft Excel skills.
• Awareness of electrical assemblies requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing wires, cables, harnesses and wiring looms using manual tools and automatic machinery, following build instructions, wiring schedules & drawings.
• Manage and maintain wire manufacturing machines.
• Support formation of wiring schedules.
• Support Electrical Technicians in preparation of parts and kits.
