Job summary

Swindon Powertrain is seeking a Wiring Harness Technician to join our prototype-driven engineering team. You will build wiring harnesses, solder components, perform hand assembly, and follow detailed instructions to support development activities.

The role requires flexibility with working hours and a proactive approach to process improvements; a pension scheme is available and the position is full-time and permanent.

Qualifications

• Time served technicians considered
• Previous experience in a prototype wiring harness assembly environment
• Experience with wiring harness design software is an advantage

Responsibilities

• Build wiring harnesses (terminal crimping, wire stripping, looms…etc.) according to technical drawings and specification
• Solder electrical components for assembly process (through hole and SMT).
• Perform hand assembly steps and box builds.
• Follow detailed assembly instructions.
• Perform quality checks (automated and manual).
• Share ideas for improvements to process to increase efficiency
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Any other tasks needed to get the job done.
• Being prepared to adopt a flexible approach to working hours to ensure development activities are carried out as and when required.
