Contract: Permanent

Are you an experienced engineer looking to take on a highly skilled, hands‑on role within a fast‑paced, precision‑engineering environment? We are currently recruiting a Wire Erosion Technician for a specialist manufacturer based in Suffolk.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with knowledge of wire and spark erosion who thrives in a busy production setting and enjoys working on both routine tooling work and innovative prototype development.

You will play a key role in ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of all tooling components manufactured on‑site. You'll support multiple departments, work closely with engineers and senior leaders, and help keep production running smoothly by delivering high‑quality machining and rapid problem‑solving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Programming, setting, and running wire erosion and spark erosion machines, ensuring production deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Prioritising workloads based on production needs and collaborating closely with senior management on prototype fixtures and conversion components.
  • Supporting the tool repair team, ensuring production‑critical tooling is turned around quickly and efficiently.
  • Reworking incorrectly manufactured parts to meet required specifications.
  • Carrying out routine machine maintenance to minimise downtime and maintain performance.
Ideal Candidate
  • 5+ years' experience programming and operating wire erosion and spark erosion machines (experience with Agie or Sodick machinery is advantageous but not essential).
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence working from both metric and imperial drawings.
  • Solid all‑round engineering knowledge and problem‑solving ability.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a close‑knit team.
  • A disciplined, self‑motivated approach and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

This role offers the chance to work with leading technology in a company that plays a vital role in realistic, force‑on‑force training for defense professionals worldwide. You'll join a supportive team, contribute to essential production activities, and gain exposure to exciting prototype development projects.

If you're ready to take the next step in your engineering career and make a real impact within a growing, forward‑thinking manufacturing business, apply today to be considered for this fantastic opportunity.
