Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in highways winter maintenance and resilience operations.
• Knowledge of asset management principles and health and safety legislation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, interpret financial data, and identify funding opportunities.
• Resilient and proactive, able to work under pressure during adverse events.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Local Highway Commissioner in commissioning winter and reactive maintenance services.
• Apply asset management principles to maintain grit bins and weather stations.
• Provide specialist advice during emergencies and severe weather events.
• Monitor service performance and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Deputise for the Local Highway Commissioner in strategic forums and partnership meetings.
• Own technical enquiries and develop practical solutions.
