Job summary

Amey is recruiting for Winter Patrol Drivers to join the M8 Account in Glasgow on a 6-month fixed-term contract from October to March (including induction). You will operate gritting vehicles, perform winter maintenance and support highway services during Scotland's challenging winter period.

Role involves safety-focused driving, routine vehicle checks, and collaboration with colleagues, clients and emergency services to keep roads accessible and safe throughout the season.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 licence and Driver CPC are essential.
• Strong communication and problem solving skills.
• Proactive safety-focused approach to work.
• Able to work effectively in a team during winter operations.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate gritting vehicles and other equipment.
• Carry out winter maintenance activities including gritting and inspections.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times.
• Record time, resources and activities in company systems.
• Attend briefings and support safe, efficient operations.
• Collaborate with colleagues, clients, emergency services and the public.
