Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is recruiting a Winter Maintenance Driver for Warwickshire on a zero hours contract. You will operate winter gritters, perform vehicle inspections, and participate in a standby rota to respond to weather events.

Role involves evenings, nights, early mornings and weekends as needed, with emphasis on safety and public service. You will be part of a team maintaining safe roads during adverse weather.

Qualifications

• Class 2 (Category C) driving licence required.
• Driver CPC qualification required.
• Digital Tachograph card required.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and reporting any defects.
• Driving winter maintenance gritters along designated routes.
• Operating gritting vehicles to required quality standards.
• Supporting snow clearance activities when required.
• Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and right first time.
• Following all depot and fleet movement procedures.
• Reporting near misses, good practices and safety observations.
• Complying with driver hours regulations and company procedures.
• Promoting Zero Harm culture at all times.
• Acting as a professional ambassador for Balfour Beatty within the local community.
