Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is recruiting a Winter Maintenance Driver for Buckinghamshire on a zero hours contract. The role involves operating winter gritters, carrying out vehicle inspections and playing a key part in keeping roads safe during winter months.

You'll work as part of a dedicated team, respond to adverse weather, and operate on a standby rota with availability every other week. Evenings, nights, weekends and early mornings shifts are possible, reflecting the needs of the service.

Qualifications

• Essential: Class 2 driving licence (Category C)
• Driver CPC qualification
• Digital Tachograph card

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report defects
• Drive winter maintenance gritters along designated routes
• Operate gritting vehicles to required quality standards
• Support snow clearance activities when required
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and right first time
• Follow all depot and fleet procedures
• Report close calls, good practices and safety observations
• Comply with driver hours regulations and company procedures
• Promote Balfour Beatty's Zero Harm culture at all times
• Act as a professional ambassador for Balfour Beatty within the local community
