Job summary
LA International Computer Consultants Ltd is seeking a Wintel & VDI engineer for an onsite role in Corsham. The contract is 3 months initial with Inside IR35 arrangements.
The role requires design, deployment and maintenance of Windows-based server infrastructure and VDI environments. You will manage VDI platforms (VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops) and work with virtualization technologies like VMware vSphere and Hyper-V.
Qualifications
- Design, deploy and maintain Windows-based server infrastructure including Active Directory.
- Manage VDI deployments (VMware Horizon, Citrix VAD) to deliver secure, efficient desktop virtualization.
- Hands-on experience with VDI solutions such as Horizon, Citrix VAD or RDS.
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V).
- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python) for automation.
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS and hybrid cloud environments is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement Windows server infrastructure including AD.
- Oversee VDI configuration, deployment and ongoing management.
- Maintain and optimize VDI solutions (Horizon, Citrix, RDS).
- Apply automation using PowerShell or Python.
- Coordinate with security teams regarding access controls and hardening.
