Job summary

LA International Computer Consultants Ltd is seeking a Wintel & VDI engineer for an onsite role in Corsham. The contract is 3 months initial with Inside IR35 arrangements.

The role requires design, deployment and maintenance of Windows-based server infrastructure and VDI environments. You will manage VDI platforms (VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops) and work with virtualization technologies like VMware vSphere and Hyper-V.

Qualifications

• Design, deploy and maintain Windows-based server infrastructure including Active Directory.
• Manage VDI deployments (VMware Horizon, Citrix VAD) to deliver secure, efficient desktop virtualization.
• Hands-on experience with VDI solutions such as Horizon, Citrix VAD or RDS.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V).
• Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python) for automation.
• Familiarity with Azure, AWS and hybrid cloud environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Windows server infrastructure including AD.
• Oversee VDI configuration, deployment and ongoing management.
• Maintain and optimize VDI solutions (Horizon, Citrix, RDS).
• Apply automation using PowerShell or Python.
• Coordinate with security teams regarding access controls and hardening.

Required:

• design, deploy, and maintain Windows-based server infrastructure, including Active Directory.
• Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Management: Oversee the configuration, deployment, and management of VDI solutions, such as VMware Horizon or Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, to provide efficient and secure desktop virtualization for end-users.
• Hands-on experience with VDI solutions such as VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or Microsoft Remote Desktop Services.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (eg, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).
• Proficiency in Scripting languages (eg, PowerShell, Python) for automation and task automation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (eg, Azure, AWS) and hybrid cloud environments is a plus.
