Job summary

Majestic Wine Group in Winchester is seeking a Sales Assistant to support the store team, drive sales and deliver outstanding customer experiences. You will assist with everyday operations, stock, deliveries and customer outreach to maximise KPI performance.

The role requires evenings and weekends work, a full UK driving licence, and a passion for wine with potential progression through training schemes. Permanent contract, 24 hours weekly, with staff discounts and uniform provided.

Qualifications

• Wine knowledge is beneficial with willingness to learn to pass WSET Level 2.
• Hold a full UK manual driving licence for at least 12 months with ≤6 penalty points.

Responsibilities

• Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and supporting targets.
• Deliver market-leading customer service to grow loyalty and repeat purchases.
• Provide VIP concierge service and update customers on products and tastings.
• Sell the story of wine with in-depth product knowledge.
• Maintain wine knowledge and pursue WSET qualification as appropriate.
• Maintain the store’s appearance and handle day-to-day operations.
• Assist with deliveries, merchandising, stock deliveries and customer outreach.
• Identify improvements to optimise store operations and feed ideas to the team.
• Ensure compliance, safety, and mandatory training are completed.
