Job summary

Computacenter is seeking an Infrastructure Support Engineer in Gloucestershire to provide 3rd line desktop and server support. You will manage WIMS and OSD for the desktop environment, creating standard WIM images and deploying SOEs across multiple devices.

Responsibilities include testing, patching, documentation, and user guidance. High-level government vetting is required; experience with SCCM, ADK and MDT is essential.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of Windows client OS (10/11).
• Experience with Active Directory and GPOs.
• Proficient with SCCM and Microsoft deployment tools.
• Strong background in desktop support environments.
• Experience managing WIMS and OSD for desktops.

Responsibilities

• Manage WIMS and OSD for desktop environment
• Create and standardise WIM images
• Produce OSD task sequencing for multiple hardware platforms
• Test new Standard Operating Environments (SOEs)
• Troubleshoot SOE/build issues
• Liaise with suppliers for fixes/upgrades
• Document solutions in Service Desk knowledge base
• Provide training to 1st/2nd Line Analysts
• Test and document new hardware
• Write user docs for front-office hardware/software
• Investigate new products and solutions and provide recommendations
• Create group policies and manage existing ones
• Analyze, manage and deploy Microsoft patches
