Job summary

ALPINE RACING LIMITED is offering a Wind Tunnel Operations Student Placement in Enstone for a penultimate-year student. You will assist with model preparation, instrumentation setup, data acquisition, and test execution within a high-performance Formula One wind tunnel environment.

Working closely with aerodynamicists and test engineers, you will help deliver high-quality data, support calibration, and contribute to ongoing improvements of wind tunnel systems.

Qualifications

• Currently studying a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerodynamics or Aerospace and seeking an industry placement in your penultimate year of university
• Strong practical and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with instrumentation, data acquisition systems, or mechanical testing
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach to technical tasks
• Passion for motorsport and a proactive, hands-on mindset
• You must have the right to work in the UK, as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role
• Be available to attend onsite for an assessment centre in September

About Us

We are a high-performance Formula One Team driven by innovation, precision, and passion. Our Wind Tunnel Operations team plays a critical role in the aerodynamic development of our race car, enabling the testing, evaluation, and validation of new concepts in a highly controlled environment. As a Wind Tunnel Operations Student Placement, you will become an integral part of this process, helping to ensure the efficient and accurate execution of wind tunnel testing that supports the development of a competitive aerodynamic package.

The Role

In this placement, you will support the day-to-day operation of the wind tunnel facility, contributing to all stages of the testing process, from model preparation and instrumentation to data acquisition and test execution. Working closely with aerodynamicists, model designers, and test engineers, you will help deliver high-quality, reliable test data that informs the development of future race car performance. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced Formula One environment while developing a strong understanding of aerodynamic testing and operations.
