Job summary

Windward Energy group. seeks an Energy Analyst in Edinburgh to deliver wind resource and energy yield assessments across its renewable portfolio. You will guide bankable assessments, support investment decisions and refine modelling methodologies.

Strong analytical skills and industry method knowledge are essential. The role involves wind measurement campaigns, turbine layout consideration and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• A qualification in a highly numerate discipline e.g. engineering, physics, mathematics.
• Experience using industry software such as WindPro, WAsP, WindFarmer, Windographer, PVRated.
• Experience in wind resource assessment and energy yield modelling.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R.

Responsibilities

• Data collection, analysis and interpretation of measured wind data from met masts, lidar and Sodar to ensure maximum data coverage.
• Designing, reviewing and implementation of wind measurement campaigns of our greenfield wind developments including met masts and remote sensing technologies.
• Design and analyse solar and battery storage developments.
• Calculation of energy yield assessments, technical losses and uncertainties.
• Modelling of wind flow using linear wind flow models (WAsP) and CFD (WindSim).
• Develop, maintain and create python (or any other code) tools to improve analysis of wind data or energy yield assessment.
