Job summary

Vestas Technology & Operations is seeking an experienced Engineer for the IOW Production Engineering team on the Isle of Wight. The role focuses on optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring quality and safety, and driving cross-functional improvements across Operations, Quality, Lean, and Headquarters Engineering.

You will lead PFMEA activities, support NPI projects, and implement robust process controls to enable first-time-right production while aligning with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment.
• Solid understanding of production processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience managing engineering projects and delivering process improvements.
• Core Tools training and certification, including PFMEA, Control Plan, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to develop, maintain, and continuously improve PFMEA documentation while ensuring alignment with control plans and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain PFMEA activities following VWTM Gate 7 while ensuring compliance with engineering and change management processes, including QBD, ECM, and ToCI.
• Ensure SQDCP objectives are met through effective process design, control plans, manufacturing layouts, process capability management, and worker balancing.
• Define and maintain manufacturing processes, testing requirements, tooling specifications, and process documentation.
• Support first-time-right quality through process confirmations, layered audits, poka-yoke solutions, and a clear focus on safety and quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with Lean Engineering, using manufacturing data and performance trends to optimize efficiency.
• Govern Engineering Change Management (ECM) activities and ensure the effective implementation of process changes within the factory.
• Manage and support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Technology Transfer (TT) projects in collaboration with headquarters and cross-functional stakeholders.
