Job summary

CRA Consulting, CRA Legal in Nottingham are seeking a Wills & Probate Lawyer to join their established team. You will independently manage a varied caseload of private client matters and provide high-quality legal advice throughout the estate administration process.

Working with the Head of Department, you may take on day-to-day people management responsibilities and use case management systems to maintain an efficient caseload.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a diverse Wills and Probate/private client caseload.
• Strong technical knowledge across Wills, Probate and Estate Administration.
• Excellent client-care skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a varied caseload of Wills and Probate matters from initial instruction through to completion.
• Advise clients on Wills, estate planning, probate and estate administration matters.
• Prepare and draft Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and other private client documentation.
• Deal with applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration.
• Manage the administration of estates, including gathering assets, settling liabilities and distributing estates to beneficiaries.
• Liaise with executors, beneficiaries, financial institutions, HMRC and other professional advisers throughout the estate administration process.
• Provide clear, practical and empathetic legal advice to clients, ensuring a high level of client care at all times.
• Undertake legal research and ensure all work complies with current legislation, regulations and professional requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues and external contacts.
• Support the Head of Department with the day-to-day running of the team and provide guidance and support to more junior members of staff where required.
• Utilise case management systems and technology effectively to maintain an efficient and well-organised caseload.
