Job summary

You Matter in Widnes is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to provide compassionate, person‑centred support to residents experiencing homelessness and addiction. You will join a team working with leadership to develop operational plans and deliver services to a high standard.

The role requires empathy, resilience and a commitment to equality, with safeguarding responsibilities and a focus on helping residents access health and welfare services.

Qualifications

• Experience in charity, community projects or homelessness sector.
• Basic knowledge of welfare benefits and housing law.
• Strong communication, empathy and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Welcome residents, conduct risk assessments and support independence.
• Meet basic needs: housing, meals, advice and guidance.
• Promote safeguarding of adults/children at risk.
• Assist with housing benefits and service charges management.
• Develop and review written support plans reflecting needs and hopes.
• Collaborate with health services on residents’ health issues.
