Job summary

City St George’s, University of London is seeking a Widening Participation Officer (Attainment Raising) to plan, deliver and evaluate outreach activities for underrepresented learners. You will work with partner schools, recruit tutors, and help run ambassador programmes across London.

The role involves coordinating the Secondary School Tutoring programme and ASCEND initiatives, with emphasis on equality, diversity and inclusion. DBS check is required and the closing date is 8 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification or equivalent experience in widening participation, education, or youth work.
• Experience delivering educational programmes and engaging effectively with students, teachers, and other stakeholders.
• Excellent organisational, administrative, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and evaluate widening participation programmes and events to empower underrepresented learners to access higher education.
• Support recruitment and management of the Widening Participation Student Tutor Scheme and ambassador recruitment.
• Coordinate key programmes such as Secondary School Tutoring and ASCEND for Black Caribbean, African and Mixed Heritage learners.
