Job summary

OneAPPS Consulting in London is seeking an experienced Wi‑Fi/Wireless Engineer to support wireless implementation projects and software deployments. The role focuses on design activities and requires coordination with global teams and product owners.

Hybrid work model with 3 days per week in the office. Strong expertise in Cisco WLCs, DNAC, and ISE, with solid programming and scripting skills preferred. Evening/weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to develop complex network designs based on reference architecture and existing standards is required, as well as the ability to develop new standards.

Role: Wi-Fi / Wireless Engineer

Location: London – Canary Wharf

Work Model: Hybrid – 3 Days/week from Office

Scope of Work

• Seeking an experienced Wi-Fi/Wireless Engineer to support wireless implementation projects and Software application deployments.
• Focus is primarily on Design activities.
• Running Daily Scrum Calls to manage various projects to completion. Supporting Wireless implementation projects and Software application deployments.
• Works with Product owner to identify the deliverables for project and work with the team to its completion.
• Good understanding DNAC and Cisco PRIME and its usage for daily operation and design
• Collect and analyze data related to the production network infrastructure
• Developing repeatable processes for execution of common functions for execution by overall team on a global scale
• Works with Product owner to identify the deliverables for project and work with the team to its completion.
• Be apprised of and recommend the implementation of new network technologies to improve stability, supportability, and performance within the network
• Engineer, or review and approve, new configurations prior to implementation
• Interact with global engineering, implementation and support teams during project turnover to ensure adherence to standards compliance
• Coordinates activities with clients, implementation, and operations personnel
• Serve as tier4 escalation support and proactively identify and provide solutions for operational efficiencies

Skills & experience:

• Ability to develop complex network designs based on reference architecture and existing standards is required, as well as the ability to develop new standards
• Proven ability to lead and execute major new implementation and changes
• Experience in developing lab test solutions and performing testing in remote lab facilities for implementation best practices
• MAB and 802.1x Authentication flow and implementation experience.
• Implementation and configuration experience of 5508,5520 & 9800 WLC's.
• Automation experience with Ansible & Python.
• SSL certificate handling , renewal and understanding of certificate chain process
• Understanding of Guest network architecture and its trouble shooting
• Good understanding on various Wireless security authentication protocols like 802.1x,EAP-TLS,EAP-GTC,MAB is a plus
• Proficiency in at least one programming languages such as Java, Shell, Ansible, Python, Perl with a strong base in object-oriented design and development.
• Understanding of Agile methodology would be an added advantage
• Proven ability to research, develop, implement and streamlining processes/procedures for executing data network projects on a global scale consisting of over 10,000+ devices
• Strong project management and execution skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to perform packet-level analysis
• Proven experience collaborating with and influencing technical and non-technical audiences with an ability to prepare, present, and adapt the intended message to the target audience
• Excellent verbal, written and communication skills required
• Financial industry experience is an additional plus

Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of ISE ( identity service engine) and its design and implementation
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Understanding of ISE architecture and policy implementation.
• Proven knowledge of most of the following: Installation and configuration of Wireless controllers Cisco 5508/5520/9800), Access points, Routers, Ethernet switches, Firewalls, Internet appliances, business applications.
• Strong knowledge of ISE (identity service engine) and its design and implementation
• Desirable - A detailed understanding that includes TCP/IP routing protocols, MPLS, NAT, BGP4, OSPF, DNS, firewall policies, geo-load balancing, proxy and cache Servers, VPN technologies, layer 4-7 switching, Security, QoS, IP Telephony, WiFi, Cellular, Network Management and Monitoring Software
• Advanced knowledge of available network operating systems, network equipment and networking protocols is essential

Qualifications:

• CCNP or CCDP Certification or equivalent experience, CCIE would be a plus
