Job summary

mecs communications is seeking a Cisco Wireless Network Engineer to design, deploy and optimise secure wireless infrastructure for a large enterprise. The role requires hands-on experience with Cisco Wireless solutions, including Catalyst 9800 controllers, WLCs, APs and ISE for 802.1X authentication.

You will work in a hybrid London environment with remote elements, supporting secure guest access, MFA, and network security integrations while driving automation with Python and Ansible.

Qualifications

• Proven Cisco Wireless engineering experience.
• Experience with Cisco Catalyst 9800 series controllers and WLCs (5520/5508).
• Hands-on with Cisco ISE deployment and 802.1X authentication.
• Experience with guest wireless and MAB auth flows.
• Familiarity with Juniper Mist and cloud networking tools.
• Knowledge of DNAC and Prime Infrastructure management.
• Routing and switching in enterprise networks; firewall integration.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure and optimise Cisco Wireless infrastructure.
• Implement Cisco ISE authentication services (802.1X, MAB, Guest Access).
• Configure Catalyst 9800s, 5520 and 5508 WLCs and APs.
• Integrate wireless with routing, switching and security platforms.
