Job summary

Cummins Inc in Peterborough, UK, is seeking a Wholegoods Material Planner for the DBU Wholegoods Planning Team. This permanent hybrid role offers 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with opportunities to influence demand and supply alignment.

You will develop supply plans, monitor ERP signals, maintain master supply schedules, and collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to optimize material flow and reduce risks across the end-to-end chain.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain supply plans that align wholegoods availability with customer demand.
• Monitor supply and demand signals using planning systems to resolve exceptions and drive corrective actions.
• Create and maintain master supply schedules balancing customer requirements with manufacturing and procurement.
• Lead part change management activities including engineering changes, obsolescence, supersessions, and new part introductions.
• Collaborate with suppliers, sourcing teams, and partners to address material constraints and reduce lead times.
• Monitor and analyze supply chain KPIs, identify gaps, and drive improvements.
• Support Plan for Every Part (PFEP) initiatives by maintaining planning parameters and optimizing material flow.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve inventory management and communicate recovery plans and material risks.

We are looking for a talented Wholegoods Material Planner to join our DBU Wholegoods Planning Team in Peterborough, United Kingdom. This is a permanent hybrid position, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Develop and maintain supply plans that align wholegoods availability with customer demand while supporting operational efficiency and delivery performance.
• Utilize materials planning systems to monitor supply and demand signals, resolve exceptions, and drive long-term corrective actions through root cause analysis.
• Create and maintain accurate master supply schedules that balance customer requirements with manufacturing, procurement, and replenishment capabilities.
• Lead part change management activities, including engineering changes, obsolescence, supersessions, and new part introductions while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
• Collaborate with suppliers, sourcing teams, and supply chain partners to address material constraints, reduce lead times, and improve supply continuity.
• Monitor and analyze supply chain KPIs, identifying gaps, driving improvements, and balancing performance trade-offs to meet business objectives.
• Support Plan for Every Part (PFEP) initiatives by maintaining accurate planning parameters and optimizing material flow across the end-to-end supply chain.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve inventory management, support supplier performance initiatives, and ensure timely communication of recovery plans and material risks.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma, secondary education certificate, or equivalent experience required; a degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
• Significant experience in materials planning, production scheduling, inventory control, manufacturing, or a related supply chain discipline.
• Experience utilizing ERP and materials planning systems to manage supply and demand, analyze exceptions, and support business decision‑making.
• Demonstrated knowledge of master scheduling, inventory optimization, part change management, and supplier collaboration processes.
• Understanding of export controls, compliance requirements, and applicable supply chain regulations is beneficial.
