Job summary

2 Sisters Food Group (Willand site) is hiring a Trussing Operative in Devon. The role involves trussing wholebirds to the required speed, lining baskets and supporting other lines in the Production area. No prior experience is required, as full training in Food Safety, Quality and Health & Safety will be provided.

You will work within a multi-cultural team and adhere to high standards. Shifts run AM and PM with a 3-weekly rota; the hourly rate is £13.11, with overtime options and career

Qualifications

• No experience required, just a can-do attitude.

The Willand site is part of the UK Poultry division in 2 Sisters Food Group.

Willand has around 1000 employees and has been open and processing for over 100 years.

Many of our colleagues have developed from Production to Management, indeed our Willand Site Director was once a Production Operative.

We have a number of opportunities available in our factory in

Willand, Devon, which has been continually processing for over 100 years.

The working hours for this position-

• AM-05:00am- 15:15pm
• PM- 15:30pm-00:00am

The rate of pay for the

Trussing Operativerole is

£13.11 per hour.

The hours of work for this role is based on a

3 weekly Rota.

Week 1(Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)

Week 2(Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday)

Week 3(Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday)

includes the following duties:

• Trussing wholebirds to the required speed
• Lining baskets
• Helping with the other lines in the Production area
• Working to the high standards required for our customers
• Working to high standards in Food Safety and Health and Safety
• Working with a multi-cultural team of enthusiastic employees.

Qualifications

We will provide full training in terms of Food Safety, Quality, Health and Safety and how to be a Trussing Operative.

We will teach you the differences in customer requirements.

No experience will be required just come with a "Can do" attitude.

Product quality is everyone’s responsibility, and the highest standards of quality must be maintained throughout all stages of the manufacturing process.

In your specific role this includes carrying out tasks in line with documented procedures and ensuring the products that we produce meet customer specifications.

You will consistently refer to the relevant customer specification sheets to ensure that the portions / products that are being packed are in accordance with the agreed weight and size parameters and that there are no visible quality issues with the product e.g. excessive bruising, poor cutting standards, bone fragments, or excess fat

You are responsible for identifying and reporting any product defects or deviations to specifications and removing those products from the line. This should also include a root cause analysis to help identify what caused the quality issue. You will also coach others to ensure they fully understand and adhere to the relevant customer specification sheets
