Job summary

Egger in Hexham is seeking a warehouse operative on a 6-month fixed-term contract. Responsibilities include accurate order picking, packing to customer specs and despatch. You will work within the Pick and Pack team, maintain stock integrity, and support safety and quality procedures.

You will collaborate with the WHM/Shift Supervisor, use Microsoft Office, and handle materials with care during rotating early/late shifts.

Qualifications

• Must have keen attention to detail and accuracy in picking and packing.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities for a busy warehouse.
• Basic IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Process and pick orders accurately, package correctly and despatch on time.
• Advise supervisor of any problems and support safe operation.
• Operate as a member of the Warehouse team in Pick and Pack areas.
• Maintain clean, organized stock areas and ensure equipment is used safely.
• Support stock checks, rotation and incoming material processing.

This role is a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

Your Tasks

• Process and pick orders with the utmost care and accuracy, package correctly and despatch on time in line with customers’ requirements.
• Advise the WHM / Pick and Pack Shift Supervisor of any problems.
• Operate as a member of the Warehouse team in the Pick and Pack Warehouses.
• Ensure all Company property / equipment is used and maintained with due care and attention.
• Ensure that stock and work areas are maintained in a clean, tidy and organised condition.
• Assist with the organisation and stock rotation of all products held within the department, supporting stock checks and validation.
• Ensure incoming materials are processed in an efficient and timely manner.
• Assist with any projects as required by the WHM / Pick and Pack Shift Supervisor or WHM / Shipping Manager.
• Ensure all safety precautions as detailed in the Health and Safety procedures are taken and that safety equipment is in good order and used at all times.
• Ensure that the operation and related tasks are conducted in a safe working manner and that any incidents / accidents and hazards are duly reported.
• Observe and comply with the Company Quality Systems as detailed in the Quality Manual at all times.
• Attend training courses deemed necessary for this position
• Provide out-of-hours support as required.

Our Requirements

• Basic standard of IT skills and competent use of Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems preferred.
• Experience of working in a Pick-Pack environment preferred.
• Fork Lift Truck experience preferred.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to collaborate well as part of a team.
• Good standard of communication skills.
• Able to work a rotating weekly shift pattern of 06:00 - 14:00 and 14:00 - 22:00, Monday to Friday.
