Job summary

EGGER UK in Hexham is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join Northumberland's largest family-owned manufacturing employer. You will load/unload, check loads against documentation, and ensure safe, accurate storage of board packs in a busy warehouse.

The role requires teamwork, good time management, and adherence to safety and quality procedures. Training and development opportunities accompany a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Experience with forklift trucks, mobile plant or HGV vehicles is preferred (relevant to the role).
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems is preferred.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent integrity and ethical standards.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Health & safety awareness.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Able to work 12 hour shifts days/nights.

Responsibilities

  • Operate as a member of a team in the Warehouse Department.
  • Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure loads match documentation and boards are undamaged and properly packed.
  • Receive and store board packs accurately and neatly.
  • Participate in stock counts and validations.
  • Use company property/equipment with care and maintain it.
  • Keep stock areas clean, tidy and organized.
  • Follow Health and Safety procedures and use safety equipment.
  • Investigate incidents/accidents and report hazards.
  • Comply with Quality Systems in the Quality Manual.
  • Attend training courses deemed necessary for the position.

City: Hexham (UK) Contract Type: Full-time Job-Code: 7098 Department: Materials Management and Logistics

Your Tasks
  • Operate as a member of a team in the Warehouse Department.
  • Load and unload vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure loads are correct as per documentation, and that boards are undamaged and correctly packed.
  • Ensure that board packs are received and stored accurately and neatly in line with working procedures.
  • Participate in stock counts and validations.
  • Ensure all company property / equipment is used and maintained with due care and attention.
  • Ensure that stock and work areas are maintained in a clean, tidy and organised condition.
  • Observe and comply with the safety precautions as detailed in the Health and Safety procedures and to ensure that safety equipment is in good order and used at all times.
  • Ensure that the operation and related tasks are conducted in a safe working manner and that any incidents/ accidents are investigated and hazards are duly reported
  • Observe and comply with the Company Quality Systems as detailed in the Quality Manual.
  • Attend training courses deemed necessary for this position.
