Job summary

Canterbury City Council is seeking a WHLG Project Officer to support delivery of the Warm Homes Local Grant programme in the Canterbury District. The role focuses on eligibility checks, data collection, reporting, and collaboration with our delivery partner and teams to retrofit homes and improve energy efficiency.

The position offers hybrid working, a 18-month fixed-term contract, and opportunities for training and professional development, with competitive benefits and pension support.

Qualifications

• Awareness of climate change and energy policy delivery.
• Knowledge of project management techniques and controls.
• Experience in energy support programme delivery or policy is desirable.
• Strong stakeholder management and customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Review applications and undertake eligibility assessments under WH:LG guidance.
• Communicate with customers, contractors and applicants to support eligibility checks.
• Assist data collection, collate and report on DESNZ and CCC programme outcomes.
• Manage records for WHLG, track progress and expenses as needed.
• Support compliance with WH:LG delivery guidance and monitor risks.
