Job summary

Fore Street Employment Agency Ltd. is seeking a skilled or trainee Workshop & Field Service Engineer in Bedford. The role combines workshop-based service, repair, and refurbishment of wheelchairs with occasional on-site field work. Full training will be provided for all equipment and builds.

You will diagnose, service, and refurbish manual and powered wheelchairs, and travel to client sites for on-site support. The position is full-time with an on-call rota to support emergencies.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical or electrical engineering is valued.
• Full UK driving licence is required for on-call and field work.
• Willingness to learn and work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair wheelchairs in workshop.
• Assemble and refurbish equipment to prescription specifications.
• Travel to field locations for on-site technical support and repairs.
• Participate in on-call rota with standby coverage.
