Job summary

Keolis Amey Metrolink is seeking an experienced Wheel Lathe Operator for our maintenance team in Greater Manchester. You will reprofile wheelsets and support day-to-day maintenance, helping to keep our tram network safe, reliable and on the move.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in engineering or equivalent (apprenticeship).
• Experience using digital and analogue wheel lathes.
• Safety-focused with maintenance discipline and fault-finding knowledge.
• Experience in large maintenance environments; understands asset care.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office / IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Turn wheelsets to required standards for reliability and safety.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including OEMs.
• Identify maintenance issues promptly and provide constructive feedback on wheel lathe tasks.
• Perform hands-on maintenance and follow detailed instructions to keep tram assets in good condition.
• Only undertake tasks you are trained and confident to complete to maintain a safe working environment.
